Websites
This is a fantastic free interactive website set up by McGraw-Hill to demonstrate the effects of adding acids and bases to a buffer solution of acetic acid. Students can listen to a voice-over explanation while adding acids and bases and watch the resulting H+/OH- and conjugate acid/base concentrations on a real time plot.
Computer Simulations
This is a great free interactive website using Java that was developed by Carnegie Mellon University with financial assistance of the National Science Foundation. Students can create their own buffer solution and then titrate with either strong acid/base or weak acid/base and view the resulting change in pH.
