LESSON OVERVIEW (SPECIFIC EXPECTATIONS: D3.6, D3.7)
Lesson Hook/Minds On:
On a black board, white board, or SMART board; make a mind map with 'rates of reactions' as the middle starting point. Ask students to come up to the board and add any piece of information they have learned through out this unit. Students are encouraged to group related terms and phrases together so as to re-enforce the learning connections between different ideas.

Teaching Strategy:
Using the Prezi linked below, introduce the concept of rate law to students. The visuals in combination with the teacher`s oral presentation will target both visual and auditory learners. The Prezi explains the content of this lesson with tables, graphs and mathematical formulas. At the end of the Prezi there are two sample problems that can be returned to in the consolation.
Now would be a good time to model to your students how to solve rate law calculations (blackboard, white board, SMART board, etc.). Problem solving as a class in a step-by-step fashion will reach our logical-mathematical, visual, and auditory learners

Consolidation:
To sum up, you can return to the Prezi for the quiz included at the end. Students can be put into groups to collaborate or work individually. The quiz questions will help recollect the knowledge students have gathered and help them return to it in the future. If students have personal electronic devices or access to computers, the quiz can be made completely virtual using Socrative.com. This might be a fun touch to help engage students.
